Explore Central
Australia's remote beauty by visiting two stunning natural sites. Although it's
a long day, the desert's scenery makes it worthwhile. First, visit the ancient
rock petroglyphs at Napwerte /Ewaninga, then see Chambers Pillar, a 50m
sandstone pillar first recorded by explorer John McDouall Stuart in his 1860
expedition to cross Australia. Then, follow the Hugh River stock route to lunch
at Stuarts Well Roadhouse. Finally, arrive at Rainbow Valley in the late
afternoon and relax with a glass of bubbles as the sunset paints a vibrant tapestry
of colour across the sandstone cliffs.
